Australian La-Di-Da licensee!

 Nappy licensing

I am now licensed to make and sell nappies from the awesome La-Di-Da pattern!

I love these nappies and can’t wait to stock my store with them and give all the other Aussie clothies a chance to fall in love with them too :)

Here are some photos of the nappy I submitted for licensing approval.  It’s a medium pink camo minky AI2 with a bamboo and cotton velour snap-in soaker.  I’ve made several of these for Teagan’s stash and I’ve got some covers for her in the works at the moment.

Once I get my labels made I’ll be stocking my store and able to take custom orders  :).  Stay tuned!

More sewing and dyeing…

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Here are some orders I have completed recently

Newborn fitted nappies:

All have LWI dyed bamboo velour outers, natural bamboo velour inners and soakers of bamboo fleece topped in velour.  They are extremely soft and squishy, and make me wish I had a newborn to wear them…..

Ten custom LWI bamboo velour nappy cuts.   I had so much fun dyeing these!

My favourite cover….

Here are some photos of my favourite cover :), sewn from my Comfy Cover pattern.  This photo shoot is from a few months ago, but there’s no way I can get my active little toddler to stay still long enough for updated modelling photos!

Front

Back

Modelled with a front-snap Little Comet Tails “Little One Size” fitted underneath - it is loose fitting but not bulky at all

No gaping anywhere while sitting, and no elastic to dig into soft baby skin

Slight scoop in the front for less tummy (and cord) irritation, but higher in the back for more coverage over flats, prefolds and night time fitteds.

Lots of ventilation but nothing peeking out from underneath!

LWI Bamboo Velour

Here are some of my latest dyeing efforts, all bamboo velour.

Pumpkin LWI 2 Yellow and scarlet.  I thought it would turn out pink, but no pink at all in there!

Pumpkin LWI 1

My new favourite combo, turquoise, green and purple :)

LWI Multi 1A primary rainbow, red, yellow and turquoise.  I didn’t use the “proper” fuchsia because the customer specified NO PINK :)

Pumpkin LWI 3

Turquoise and yellow.  This isn’t a very good photo, it looks great in real life….

Squishy Bamboo Goodness!

Here’s my latest custom order, a pair of fitteds and a set of prefolds.  They are so soft and cuddly, I didn’t want to part with them!

Whiterabbit11 6

2 XL Fattycakes fitteds, bamboo fleece outer, bamboo velour inner with trifold soaker of the same. They are overlocked in rainbow woolly nylon and have flower engraved snaps too...

Whiterabbit11 5

3 XL LWI dyed prefolds, bamboo terry outers (for snappi-ing) and bamboo velour inners. Top: Pink & Purple, Middle: Pink, Purple & Turquoise (my favourite) and Bottom: Pink & Green.  And yes, my display rack is a panel from the playpen… not real fancy but it works!

“Misty Sea” pocket nappy

Monday, October 12, 2009

This medium fattycakes pocket nappy was a custom order.  Misty Sea minky outer, hidden PUL and baby blue suedecloth inner.  This minky is really pretty, I can see why it is so popular (and expensive!)  The turquoise snaps matched nicely too :)

A set of cute little customs :)

Friday, October 9, 2009

Here are some customs I created last night, three small Fattycakes AI2s.  We had a photo shoot outside for a bit of a change :) I really need to work on my photography, I’m not used to all that natural light!

sarukmum23 1 1

Top two are minky outer, hidden PUL and suedecloth inner.  Bottom one is a cute tools print PUL with suedecloth inner.  They all have star engraved snaps.

sarukmum23 1 3

Snap in soakers are my new combo contour/trifolds made from bamboo fleece topped in suedecloth.  They are trim but absorbant, and unfold to no more than 2 layers of bamboo for cleaner washing and quicker drying.

sarukmum23 1 2

Climbing trees – they are little boy nappies afterall!

A little surprise to go in the package, a cute little bib I made from the scrap minky & PUL.  It is reversible and bound in FOE.  I’m going to pretend that the “K” was supposed to be crooked….

A trio of Fattycakes

Saturday, September 26, 2009

Just a few FC's that I sewed up yesterday.

Small AI2, minky outer, hidden PUL, suedecloth inner.  Quick dry soaker of bamboo fleece topped in suedecloth

Medium pocket, PUL outer, suedecloth inner.  Trifold bamboo fleece insert

Large pocket, minky outer, dalmation suedecloth inner.  It's sitting a bit wonky because it is unstuffed in the pictures

Saturday, August 29, 2009

I've been working on Teagan's medium stash, as much as renovations allow, anyway. I got some awesome minky in the mail on the same day that I finally bought the HHS pattern, and this is the result - a half dozen medium Minky AI2's! They are without soakers for the moment, but I just had to snap some photos anyway.....
A closeup so you can see the gorgeous squishy minky goodness... .

Flower engraved snaps... love them :)
